The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has announced the release of the results for candidates who participated in the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination on Thursday, April 16, 2026. The board disclosed that a total of 632,788 results have been processed and are now ready for access by the concerned candidates. In a statement released on Friday by its spokesperson, Fabian Benjamin, the board provided specific directions on how candidates can view their performance.
According to the board, candidates are required to check their results by sending the keyword UTMERESULT as a text message to either 55019 or 66019. It emphasized that this request must be sent using the same mobile phone number that was used during the initial registration process. At this current stage, the board clarified that candidates are only permitted to view their scores, as the official printing of result slips has not yet been enabled on its portal.
The examinations body also issued a stern warning regarding the integrity of the results, cautioning against any attempts to manipulate or falsify the scores received through the official SMS channels. It noted that such activities are considered serious criminal offences and that the board is closely monitoring for any infractions. The statement revealed that two candidates and one parent have already been taken into custody for allegedly using artificial intelligence and other electronic tools to falsify examination scores.
JAMB reiterated its commitment to maintaining the credibility of the examination process and warned that anyone found guilty of result tampering would face the full weight of the law. The board further assured the public that the examination is still ongoing across various centres and that results for other batches will be released progressively as they are processed. Candidates whose results are yet to be uploaded were advised to remain calm and await further updates from the board as the exercise continues.
