Gridlock as Torrential Rain Damages Kugbo Bus Terminal in Abuja

A heavy downpour on Tuesday caused widespread traffic disruption along the Nyanya Keffi Expressway in Abuja following significant damage to the Kugbo Bus Terminal.

The storm affected sections of the recently constructed terminal, with parts of the roofing torn off and debris scattered onto the highway, obstructing the free movement of vehicles.

The incident triggered severe congestion on the busy route linking the Federal Capital Territory with neighbouring Nasarawa State, leaving many commuters stranded for hours.

Eyewitnesses said several vehicles were struck by falling debris as residents and passersby joined efforts to clear the road and ease the situation.

The area around the Abuja Computerised Vehicle Inspection Centre, managed by the Directorate of Road Traffic Services, was reported to be the most affected section of the expressway.

As of Tuesday evening, traffic was still moving slowly, with motorists advised to exercise caution while approaching the affected area.
