Olasco Films Fires Back at Okunnu, Austin Emmanuel Over Allegations

Veteran movie marketer Akeem Olatunji Balogun, popularly known as Olasco Films, has responded to recent allegations made against him by actors Okunnu and Austin Emmanuel, describing both men as ingrates.

The controversy began after Okunnu accused Olasco of withholding proceeds from a film project they worked on 16 years ago. In a recent interview, the actor claimed he had not forgiven the marketer, alleging that all earnings from the movie were taken by Olasco.

Months earlier, Austin Emmanuel had also levelled accusations against Olasco Films and his associate, Toymax Films, alleging that they blacklisted him within the industry. Emmanuel, who has been absent from the screen for some time, further made personal claims involving his former partner.

Reacting during an interview with actor Tunde Ola-Yusuf, Olasco rejected the accusations and defended his role in both actors’ careers.

He stated that he provided Okunnu with ₦2 million to produce the film in question, noting that production costs at the time ranged between ₦700,000 and ₦1 million. According to him, the payment was agreed upon and fulfilled.

Addressing Austin Emmanuel’s claims, Olasco maintained that he supported the actor’s rise in the industry by promoting the film that brought him recognition.

The dispute has sparked conversations within the entertainment space, with differing accounts emerging from the parties involved.
