Shoprite admin manager missing, presumed dead after brutal murder of close friend 'Area Mama'





An Administrative Manager at Shoprite,  Olasunbo Ngozi Ogunsanya fondly called Ola has gone missing and is presumed dead, sparking widespread concern among friends, family, and colleagues.



Ola's disappearance comes on the heels of the brutal murder of her close friend and protector, "Area Mama," a well-known cross-dresser and openly gay man. 



Recalled that the popular cross-dresser popularly addressed as Abuja Area Mama, was reportedly found dead on August 8, 2024, in Lagos.



PUNCH reported that his corpse was dumped on the road along the Banex, Wuse II area of the Federal Capital Territory. 



It was gathered that the outfit he was killed in was the same one he wore in the last video he posted on TikTok on Wednesday.



Although the circumstances surrounding his death remain unclear, the FCT Police Command stated that an investigation had commenced to unravel the mystery behind his death.



Following Area Mama’s death, it was gathered Ola who was one of his close friends had been missing. 



Sources close to Ola revealed that she had been receiving threatening messages and was living in fear for her life following the assault at Quilox Nightclub in February 2023. 



Ola had reported the incident to the police but faced intimidation and hostility.



After relocating to Abuja, it was gathered that Ola continued to face harassment and persecution due to her sexuality. 



Our correspondent gathered that because of her sexual interest, Ola’s family disowned her, and colleagues distanced themselves upon learning of her relationship.



Area Mama's friendship provided Ola with a sense of security and acceptance. His murder has left Ola's loved ones fearing the worst.



“Ola was terrified,” said a friend, who wished to remain anonymous. 



“She knew she was next on the list. We're worried sick about her safety,” the sourced added. 



Shoprite management confirmed Ola's absence, stating, "We are deeply concerned about Ola's well-being and are working with authorities to locate her."



The police have launched an investigation into Ola's disappearance and Area Mama's murder.



Human rights activists have condemned the violence and persecution faced by Nigeria's LGBTQ+ community, calling for greater protection and support.



Ola's disappearance serves as a grim reminder of the dangers faced by marginalized individuals in Nigeria. 



As the search for her continues, friends, family, and colleagues hold onto hope for her safe return.
