NNPP denies suspension of southwest leader amid party restructuring rumour

The New Nigeria People's Party has denied reports that Alhaji Adebisi Olopoeyan, the party's Southwest Leader and National Leader, and other Oyo State Executive Members were suspended for three months.

The party also denied directing the affected members to face any disciplinary committee.

Recalled that a rumor, allegedly spread by the Kwankwasia group, claimed that an emergency National Working Committee meeting held on Tuesday night, instructed six suspended state executives to appear before the National Disciplinary Committee.

It was reported that the decision was made to reposition the party, among other reasons.

But the National Secretary of NNPP, Comrade Oginni Sunday in a statement on Wednesday, dismissed the claims as "unholy" and "unconstitutional" .

Oginni emphasised that Alhaji Olopoeyan is a valued member who has contributed significantly to the party's growth, both financially and in terms of human resources.

The NNPP scribe urged the public to disregard the suspension announcement, labeling it a malicious attempt by Kwankwaso's supporters to cause chaos.

The party secretary also pointed out that Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso's leadership had been dissolved, and he himself had been expelled from the party.

Oginni appealed to NNPP members in Oyo State to remain calm, assuring them that the law would soon address Kwankwaso's actions.

He reiterated its confidence in Alhaji Olopoeyan's leadership, praising his contributions to the party's growth.

"Recognising the fact that, the illegal NWC of Kwankwaso's autocracy has long been dissolved and Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso himself expelled from the Party.

"I appeal to the New Nigeria People's Party family in Oyo State to remain calm in the face of the undue provocations from Kwankwaso's camp because very soon the longhand of the law shall caught Kwankwaso and all his political rascality shall become nothingless.

"The Board of Trustees and the National Headquarters of NEW Nigeria People's Party ( NNPP) hereby reiterated the Vote of Confidence on Alhaji Adebisi Olopoeyan as one of the National Leaders of this great party" he concluded.
