Singer Niniola Announces Death Of Husband

Nigerian afro-house singer, Niniola Apata, has lost her husband, Michael Ndika. The Grammy-nominated performer revealed the tragic development through multiple emotional posts on her Instagram page in the early hours of Wednesday. Prior to his passing, Ndika served as the Chief Executive Officer of NaijaReview, a multimedia organisation dedicated to afro-house and modern African music.

In her initial post, Niniola wrote, "God took him." She followed up in a second post, stating, "My husband died." Continuing to mourn her loss, she wrote in a third post, "God took him. 13 years. 13 f***ing years."

Details regarding the cause of Ndika's death were not immediately made public, as the artist is known for keeping her personal affairs and marriage away from social media and general public scrutiny. The 39-year-old vocalist gained widespread fame after finishing as the runner-up in the 2013 season of Project Fame West Africa. Her profile expanded globally following the release of her 2017 hit track, Maradona, which attracted positive reviews from international acts such as DJ Snake, Drake, Timbaland, and Beyonce.
