Paris Saint-Germain have secured a spot in the Champions League final after a 1-1 draw against Bayern Munich on Wednesday completed a 6-5 aggregate victory. The defending champions will face Arsenal in the final in Budapest on May 30 following a resilient defensive performance at the Allianz Arena. Luis Enrique’s side took an early lead in the third minute when Ousmane Dembele fired into the roof of the net after a precise cutback from Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.
The early goal forced the six-time European champions to chase the game, though they were often toothless in their offensive efforts. Bayern Munich players and staff were left frustrated by several refereeing decisions in the first half as they sought a way back into the tie. Despite the pressure, the visitors held firm to protect their lead from the first leg.
Manuel Neuer produced several vital saves in the second half to deny further goals from Kvaratskhelia and Desire Doue, keeping the German side within reach until the final moments. Harry Kane managed to find the net in the fourth minute of added time for his 14th goal of the competition this season. However, the late strike was insufficient to stop the French side from progressing to their second consecutive final.
PSG are now aiming to become the second team to win back-to-back Champions League titles since 1990, a feat previously achieved only by Real Madrid. The victory also marks a return to the stadium where they recorded their first title win against Inter Milan last year. Bayern Munich, on the other hand, have failed to reach the final since their 2020 victory over PSG in Lisbon.
