The Ogun State Ministry of Justice says it is fast-tracking the prosecution of TikTok content creator Ademola Abiodun, known as DJ Chicken, following repeated crash incidents that have raised concerns about public safety in the state.
The step comes after the November 1, 2025 crash in Sagamu, where he rammed into two motorcycles and left a rider and a woman seriously injured.
The state government announced the move in a statement posted on its official X account on Monday.
Eyewitnesses said the incident caused panic in the area, adding that he tried to flee before angry residents held him down. The government noted that his conduct has become troubling and must be addressed under the law.
The press release stated, “While it may be reasonable to allow crash victims get compensation from persons who have driven recklessly and to resolve road traffic collisions as a civil wrong, some road users are special dangers to society and should be held to account under criminal law. Mr Abiodun is one such person.”
The ministry also said that at least two recent crashes involving the content creator were captured on video and “are self-evident.”
It added, “Mr Abiodun’s heedless return to the wheel with no greater care just three weeks after makes it imperative that the state must intervene to protect the public, especially as there is an organic outcry against his continued driving.”
The government pointed to another incident on November 23, 2025 in Lekki, Lagos, where he was involved in a lone crash that nearly hit pedestrians. “This lone car incident almost harmed pedestrians, but for good fortune and the pedestrians’ quick reflexes,” the statement read.
To ensure accountability, the Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Oluwasina Ogungbade, SAN, has directed officials to expedite the pending case from Sagamu.
“Accordingly, the Attorney-General and Honourable Commissioner for Justice – Oluwasina Ogungbade, SAN – has directed relevant officers to expedite action on the pending crash case from Sagamu for prompt arraignment,” the ministry said.
It assured road users that the government is working with security agencies to prevent further harm. “The Office of the Attorney-General is working closely with the police to achieve this outcome,” it added.
