NIS Ogun Gets New PRO



The Ogun State Comptroller of Nigeria Immigration Service, Aliu Akadri, has approved the appointment of Assistant Superintendent of Immigration-1, Samuel Olaleye, as the new Command Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Command.


Olaleye replaces Chief Superintendent of Immigration, Olukoyejo Oyekanmi.


 With his wealth of experience and skills, Olaleye is poised to make a significant impact as the new Command PRO.


Born and bred in Abeokuta in Ogun State, Olaleye bagged a first-class honours degree in Library and Information Science from the University of Ibadan in 2015.

His academic excellence was evident from the onset, setting him up for future success.


After graduating, Olaleye proceeded to Kwara State for his National Youth Service, where he served with Federal Polytechnic Offa as a Research Assistant and Librarian. This experience honed his skills and prepared him for his future career.


As a University Scholar of the University of Ibadan, Olaleye received a scholarship offer for his postgraduate master's program from the same university. He completed his master's program in Library and Information Studies (MLIS) in 2019, further solidifying his expertise.


As a master's student, Olaleye was appointed a Graduate Assistant and co-supervisor to undergraduate students. This role demonstrated his ability to lead and mentor others, a skill that would serve him well in his future endeavors.


Olaleye enlisted into the Nigeria Immigration Service in August 2021 and was a member of the 47th Superintendent Basic Course at Immigration Training School Kano. He bagged Distinction and Merit Awards for his outstanding service, showcasing his proactive and intelligent approach.


Upon his arrival from Immigration Training School Kano, Olaleye was appointed the 2IC-Press and Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the Nigeria Immigration Service, Ogun State Command. This appointment marked a significant milestone in the history of the State Command.


Olaleye is also a researcher with research papers and journals published locally and internationally. His research interests and expertise have earned him recognition in his field.


In addition to his academic and professional achievements, Olaleye possesses a wide range of skills, including ICT, computer, communication, musical, and leadership skills. He is a multifaceted individual who can multitask in various roles.



To culminate his academic and professional prowess, Olaleye can multitask as a writer, spoken word artist, librarian, information scientist, e-learning resources manager. His diverse career interests and skills makes him a valuable asset to the NIS.


Olaleye is widely travelled across and outside the country, giving him a broad perspective and understanding of different cultures. This experience will undoubtedly serve him well in his role as Command PRO.



With his impressive background and skills, Olaleye is poised to make his mark among the long list of successful Service spokesmen. He has assumed duty at NIS Ogun Command, ready to take on new challenges and make a positive impact.
