Ogun State Governor and Chairman of the Southern Governors’ Forum, Prince Dapo Abiodun, has expressed deep condolences to the Governor and people of Ondo State over the death of the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Tayo Oluwatuyi.
Oluwatuyi passed away on Saturday at a hospital in Ondo State due to injuries sustained in a road accident while traveling from Akure to Ibadan on December 17. His demise has been described as a significant loss to the government and people of Ondo.
In a condolence letter addressed to Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, Abiodun eulogized Oluwatuyi as a distinguished public servant and exemplary professional whose contributions to governance and the state’s development were remarkable.
"I am deeply saddened by the news of the demise of Mr. Tayo Oluwatuyi, a consummate public servant, thoroughbred professional, and highly conscientious individual. His imprints and strides in and out of government in Ondo State have been nothing short of phenomenal," Abiodun wrote.
He continued, "The news of his death came as a rude shock. Yet, we take solace in the fact that Almighty God, in His infinite wisdom, has chosen this time to call him home. His stabilizing role as a bridge between the political class and career officers will be sorely missed."
Reflecting on Oluwatuyi’s legacy, Abiodun described him as "a brilliant administrator and sagacious politician who embodied virtues and committed himself to a life of service for the benefit of the people."
On behalf of the Southern Governors’ Forum, Abiodun conveyed his sympathies to Governor Aiyedatiwa, the Ondo State Executive Council, and the deceased’s family and friends. "I urge everyone to take consolation in the fact that Mr. Oluwatuyi’s life of service will be remembered for generations to come," he added.
Abiodun concluded by praying for divine comfort for the bereaved family and for the repose of the deceased’s soul. "May God grant his immediate family the strength to bear this irreplaceable loss."
