The chairman, Mobile Phones Dealers and Technicians Association (MOPDATEC), Ogun state, Mr. Ifebola Togunwa has debunked the rumour that some igbos are planning to turn the popular Abeokuta computer village to another Alaba market.
Togunwa disregarded the rumour that plans are underway by some Igbo descendants to take over the market which has served as the avenue for phone sellers and buyers in Abeokuta metropolis.
Recalled that towards the build-up for the MOPDATEC election, there were rumours that one of the contestants then promised to give preferencial treatment to Igbo traders at the market.
It was also rumoured that the Igbo traders were planning to have the larger percentage space at the market for ease possession.
Togunwa while describing the rumour as untrue and unfounded, he stressed that the market is meant for everybody irrespective of culture or ethnic affiliation.
The MOPDATEC chairman, however, said the association under his leadership will not give room for invaders that will bring break down of law and order at the market.
