Ogun NNPP cannot be hijacked, party leadership passes vote of confidence on chairman

The executive council members of the New Nigeria Peoples Party in Ogun State have commended the party's chairman in the state, Comrade Olaposi Oginni over for his efforts in making the party one of the forefront in the state.

The executive in a communique signed by 18 members present at the council meeting with 20 local government Chairmen on Monday, also passed a vote of confidence on the Oginni.

They vowed to reposition the party and protect the structures from who they described as foreign hijackers.

It reads: "Recognizing the fact that the mandate freely given to the candidates of the Party in the just Concluded 2023 general elections expired on the 25th of February and 18th of March respectively, wishes all the party candidates best of luck in their future endeavors and future ambitions.

"It was however noted that some candidates, most especially the gubernatorial candidate, ran his campaign as a garrison commander without any respect for the Party structures and constitutional authority. The Ogun State Executive members blamed the State chairman, comrade Oginni Olaposi Sunday for making the gubernatorial candidate to believe in error that he was bigger than the party structures.

"It was also noted that the monumental failures at the Governorship and House of Assembly Polls was the resultant effects of non-inclusion of The State Chairman, the LG Chairmen and the Ward Chairmen in the Planning and Logistics for the Election.

"It's therefore concluded that every aspirant in the near future should be made to understand the rules of engagements with the Party Structures at the State, Local and Ward Levels.

"Realizing the fact that NNPP inOgun State has a brighter future, the SEC vowed to do everything possible within the ambit of law and Constitution of the Party to protect every member and party chairmen at all levels from harassment and intimidation."
