Nemesis caught up with the Pastor of Light House Gospel Church, Micheal Aboodun as men of Ogun State Police Command arrested him for deflowering and impregnating a 12-year-old church member.
The Ogun Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Abimbola Oyeyemi made this known on Friday, in a press release made available to newsmen in Abeokuta the state capital.
Oyeyemi said the arrest was made following the information received by the Victims mother.
According to the Police boss, the 48 Years old pastor reportedly confessed to committing the crime of deflowering the victim who was a Junior Secondary School (JSS) 2 Student, and blamed it on the devil."
News Hunter reports that the victim's mother explained to the police that her daughter was ignorant of her maturity at the time, hence why she didn't know that she had conceived.
The statement reads, "the Pastor was arrested following information received at Owode Egba divisional headquarters that, the victim's mother joined the church as a result of a spiritual problem which led to the death of two of her daughters. To prevent the victim from the same calamity, she ran to the church for deliverance.
"On a fateful day, the Pastor's father of three asked the victim's mother to send her to him for special prayer, but on getting there, the Pastor took her into a room within the church and forcefully had carnal knowledge of her which insulted to pregnancy.
"The mother of the victim explained to the police that since her daughter has not been menstruating before, it was difficult for her to know that she was pregnant until seven months after.
"The victim, who was delivered of a baby three months ago informed the police that she was threatened by the Pastor of dare consequences if she informed anybody about what happened between them, and that was the reason she didn't inform her mother".
"The DPO, Owode Egba Division, CSP Olasunkanmi Popoola upon getting the information directed it's detecting it to apprehend the pastor."
However, the State Commissioner of Police, CP Lanre Bankole has ordered that the suspect be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation and possible prosecution.
