Supporters, Friends Donate N10m Nomination Fee For Ogun House of Reps Aspirant, Balogun Afeez

 

Members of the Balogun Olaniyi Afeez Support Group have donated a sum of ten million naira nomination fee to Olaniyi Balogun for the purchase of the All Progressive Congress' House of Representatives form. 


Balogun, a Special Adviser to Governor Dapo Abiodun on Energy is an APC aspirant aiming to represent Abeokuta South at the National Assembly in 2023. 


The members of the Balogun Olaniyi Afeez Support Group surprised the APC aspirant on Friday during an empowerment programme he organised for the residents of Abeokuta South. 


Presenting the cheque, the Coordinator of Balogun Olaniyi Afeez Support Group, Hon. Ayodeji Shomide said the gesture was to support his good work in the local government.


Shomide noted that the good work and contributions of Balogun to the development of Abeokuta South is unprecedented. 


The former caretaker council boss however reiterated the commitment of the supporters and friends of Balogun in ensuring his emergence come 2023. 



Meanwhile, the leading House of Representatives aspirant organized empowerment programme and health insurance scheme for over 500 constituents.


Balogun, said the empowerment scheme was to help the downtrodden in his local government and lift them out of poverty.


He donated PoS machines and start up capital to the beneficiaries to start their businesses.


The empowerment programme had in attendance party leaders and notable dignitaries.


Reacting to the donation, Balogun said, "I'm elated today, I thank my friends who stood by me and paid for my nomination fee. 


"I believe with God, we shall provide, quality leadership and qualitative representation. 


"I'm going to be reliable. I'm going to use this opportunity to thank the Governor."
