As a way of showing appreciation to the people of Imala in Abeokuta North Local Government Area of Ogun State for supporting the New Nigeria People’s Party in the last Local Government election, the party has opened an ICT centre in the community.
The centre which was named after the national chairman of NNPP, Dr. Boniface Aniebonam was commissioned last week Saturday at Imala area of the state.
There was jubilation and funfair during the commissioning which was done by a national leader of the party, Oladipupo Olayokun.
Speaking at the commissioning, Olayokun who was representing the National chairman commented the Ogun residents for voting NNPP in the last Local Government election.
Olayokun described the ICT centre as an avenue for the people in the grassroots to know more about technology.
In his remarks, the State chairman of NNPP, Olaposi Oginni noted that the ICT is the only way the party can appreciate the people for supporting them in the last election.
Oginni stressed that the NNPP want to use the ICT centre to build a world-class guru.
He added, "We know we are in a jet age where ICT is the key thing and whole way we can give back to Imala people to appreciate them for voting NNPP en masse, and NNPP defeating almighty APC, we need to come back to them and appreciate them.
"We want to develop the youth more properly. We are looking forward to youth of Imala coming of age and to be a world-class ICT guru. And we know we can start that by giving back to them, and that's why we have come here today.
"The great Imala youth have a stake in Ogun state and we are starting from here to take over the state."
Also, the facilitator of the ICT centre who is also the secretary of NNPP, Ezekiel Olujobi promised to do more for the people of the state.
He noted,"If you look at the setting, everybody look down on this area. They said this is a village. But they fail to understand that the world is just in a global place. Even when you are sitting in a village, you can communicate with somebody in U.S and wherever.
"So, that is why we need to develop our people here. They would know that we are really happy for what they did in the last election; and this is just the beginning: the tip of an iceberg."
